Selby Gains Momentum with Third Title of Season

Snooker player Mark Selby has won his third title of the season, beating China’s Pang Junxu 6-2 at the WST Classic in his hometown of Leicester. Selby has also won the European Masters and the UK Championship this season. He will now compete against the top eight players of the season so far at the Duelbits Tour Championship in Hull, with the chance to become the world number one if he wins the tournament and Mark Allen does not.

Selby stated that he has been practicing harder this season and that his game has felt right in recent events. He hopes to continue his momentum with further victories at the Tour Championship and the upcoming World Championship in April. Selby has won the World Championship four times in the past, in 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2021, and aims to win a fifth title this year.

Selby acknowledged that he struggled both mentally and on the table last season, and was under pressure this season to secure his place in the top 16. He hopes to win more World Championship titles and return to the world number one ranking.
